Ink Painting with the Mid-Autumn Moon

About this workshop: Learn the fundamentals of Chinese ink painting with Sharon Y. Li by painting four key symbols of the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival: the full moon, the pomelo, the jade rabbit, and the osmanthus tree. She'll guide you through holding a brush, working with and mixing ink, and creating each shape before you experiment with ways to make your art weirder, more expressive, and more your own. Leave with new friends and a finished ink piece that brings together everything you've learned. Beginners are welcome and encouraged - all materials are provided!

Materials provided: Charcoal, sketch paper, Xuan paper, Chinese calligraphy brushes, Chinese ink, calligraphy ink mat.
What you take home: All completed ink paintings and sketches on Xuan paper
